Terms and service policies
Effective 2026-10-23. These terms summarize how HASP Labs LLC ("HASP Labs") works with clients. The signed project agreement governs each project; where this page and the agreement differ, the agreement wins.
Using this website
Content on hasplabs.com is HASP Labs' unless noted. The sample designs are HASP Labs' own work for fictional businesses, not client work; any resemblance to a real business is unintentional.
Project scope and price
Every build has a written scope and fixed price agreed before work starts. Work outside the scope is quoted separately before it is done. Prices on this site are starting points and may change for new projects at any time; an agreed price does not change.
Payment
A deposit at kickoff and the balance at launch approval, unless the agreement says otherwise. A website is paid 50% at the start and 50% at launch approval. A web app or an iPhone app starts with the Discovery Sprint, paid in full at the start, with $500 credited to a build signed within 30 days; the build is then paid 25% at each of four milestones. If you want both a web app and an iPhone app, HASP Labs quotes them together at a bundle price. Invoices are due in 14 days. Every launch includes a care plan. Care plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, by card or by bank transfer (ACH). There is a 3-month minimum after launch. After that they run month to month and can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. Rush work is quoted at +50%. Domain registration and renewal fees are included in every care plan for a domain HASP Labs holds for you; without a care plan, HASP Labs bills them yearly at cost. If you keep your domain with another company, its renewal stays on your own card. Apple's yearly developer fee is paid by HASP Labs for apps published under its account, so it costs you nothing. If your app must or will sit under your own Apple account, you pay Apple's $99 a year directly to Apple, and HASP Labs sets the account up. Other third-party costs you choose, such as a paid mailbox or a paid service, are passed through at cost.
Ordering online
The Website package and the Discovery Sprint can be ordered on this site. Ticking the terms box at checkout accepts these terms (version 2026-10-23.1). HASP Labs records the time, your IP address and the terms version with the order. The order email confirms the package, the amount paid, what is charged at approval and the monthly care plan. If you need a signed agreement instead, use the "Talk first" form and HASP Labs will send one.
Card on file and the balance charge
When you pay online, Stripe saves the card you used; HASP Labs never sees or stores the card number. For a Website order you pay a $600 deposit at checkout. When you press Approve on your private preview, the remaining $600 is charged to that card automatically, plus any extras you agreed in writing before then (for example extra pages at $75 each). The approval screen shows the exact amount before you confirm. If the charge fails, you get an email with a payment link and launch waits until the balance is in. The Discovery Sprint is paid in full at checkout and nothing further is charged. After the balance is paid, the saved card is used for your monthly care plan. To use a different card, or to pay by bank transfer (ACH) instead, email HASP Labs at any time.
Cancelling an online order
Cancel by email at any time before work starts (for a Website, before the first preview is sent; for a Discovery Sprint, before the workshop) and the deposit is refunded in full. After work starts, the termination terms below apply: you pay for work completed to date and receive what has been produced, and the deposit covers it first.
Care plan start
Every website launches with a care plan. The plan you choose at checkout starts on launch day and is charged monthly to the saved card at the price shown when you ordered, or paid by bank transfer (ACH) if you choose that instead. You can switch plans before launch by email. A website with the Workflow add-on, from$500, for booking, reservations, class sign-ups or quote requests, needs the Growth plan; a web app with the Workflow add-on needs App Care. The 3-month minimum and30 days' notice apply as for every care plan.
Revisions and approvals
Each phase includes two revision rounds of up to five business days each. If HASP Labs hears nothing from you for ten business days after asking for approval, and has sent you two reminders, the current version counts as approved so the schedule holds. A third revision round is $125. A project paused for more than 21 days restarts with a $125 restart fee.
Previews
A private preview link is provided for review during a project. It is not production hosting; launch is always on your own domain. Preview links close 60 days after launch.
Ownership
On full payment, you own the deliverables: design, content and source code, excluding third-party and open-source components, which stay under their own licenses. You own your domain and your own Stripe account. HASP Labs sets up and runs a hosting account for your business, which holds your site and, if HASP Labs registers or transfers it for you, your domain. On request, or when you leave, HASP Labs hands that account over to you within 5 business days, free and with no conditions. HASP Labs may describe the project in general terms (type, scope) and, only with your written permission, show it publicly.
iPhone apps
HASP Labs publishes your app under its own Apple developer account, so you need no Apple membership and pay no Apple fee. HASP Labs also writes your app's privacy policy as part of every iPhone app build. Some apps go under your own Apple account instead, with HASP Labs added to your team: apps in regulated fields such as health, finance or legal, apps that sell digital goods or subscriptions inside the app, and any app you would rather keep there. For those apps you pay Apple's $99 a year directly to Apple, and HASP Labs sets the account up with you. For an app under HASP Labs' account, you give HASP Labs a license to use your name, logo and content only to publish and maintain the app, and the App Store lists HASP Labs LLC as the seller. On request, HASP Labs moves the app to your own Apple account, free and with no conditions, within5 business days of your Apple account being ready. Apple decides whether and when an app is approved. HASP Labs prepares and submits the app and makes the changes Apple asks for within the agreed scope.
Care plans
Each plan includes a set number of requests per month, a response-time target, and the services listed on the Services page. HASP Labs makes every change to your site or app as a request by email; plans do not include a way for you to edit it yourself. The Growth plan also includes a monthly search report.A request is one small change to the pages or screens you already have, sent by email: new text, a new photo, updated prices or hours, a new team member, a blog post, a new form question, or a link that points somewhere new. HASP Labs makes the change and sends it for one check by you. Unused requests do not carry over to the next month. New pages or sections, a redesign, and connecting a new outside service are quoted separately. New booking, sign-up or quote features are the Workflow add-on, from $500, which needs the Growth plan (App Care for web apps). Maintenance never counts against requests. iOS Care includes rebuilding your app and resubmitting it when Apple's yearly iPhone software updates require it. Apple decides when the update is approved. Extra requests are $35 each, agreed by email first. Response targets are targets, not guarantees. Support is Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, by email. Work outside a plan's scope, or without a plan, is billed at$150/hour in 30-minute blocks, agreed first. Usage beyond what a plan is sized for, such as unusual traffic, is passed through at the provider's cost, with no markup. HASP Labs alerts you when usage reaches 80% of the limit. Annual prepay is ten months for twelve; there is no build discount for committing.
Post-launch fixes
Defects against the agreed scope reported within 30 days of launch are fixed at no charge. Changes in requirements are not defects.
Availability and limits
HASP Labs is a one-person studio. Reasonable efforts, not guarantees, apply to availability and response times. Liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected service in the preceding three months, to the extent permitted by law.
Termination and offboarding
Either party can end a project with written notice. You pay for work completed to date and receive what has been produced. Leaving a care plan: after the 3-month minimum, give 30 days' notice. Within 5 business days, free and with no conditions, you get the source code, a copy of your data, the documentation, ownership of the hosting account and your domain, and, for an iPhone app, its move to your own Apple account within 5 business days of that account being ready. If an invoice goes unpaid, service may be suspended after 15 days' notice; no data is deleted for 60 days.
